A 3D first for Malaysia

After Avatar, 3D is the new craze in film-making. Not wanting to be left out, Malaysian film-makers are also joining the 3D bandwagon. KRU Studios is planning to be the first to produce Malaysian 3D movie. Taking the auspicious date of 29th of February as the title of the movie, '29 Februari' will start shooting at the end of the year and Yusry will be directing this movie. Hopefully this latest work from Yusry will top Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa.

The movie '29 Februari' is about a man who was born on a leap year in 1892 but he only gets older every four years. KRU Studios Executive President Norman Abdul Halim said that the movie will start in 1892 and end in 2012. The character will see the various changes that happen to Malaysia. He also added that one of the highlights is in the drastic changes in Malaysia's landscape.

As of now, the plot seems to be interesting as they are taking another approach that is different than other film-makers. It will be interesting to see how they approach the changes of the cities that the main character will be living in. Hopefully the graphic of the cities will be better than the graphic of the city in 'Cicakman'. The movie '29 Februari' is expected to come to the cinemas next year.
